     I.       COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

An individualized instruction for the student to examine a current issue or trend in-criminal justice, culminating in the preparation, submission and defense of a 15-20 page paper.

 

II.       COURSE GOALS

 

1.            To provide the student with practical experience in the development of a research project.

2.            To provide the student with practical experience to develop a major thesis.

 

III .LEARNING OBJECTIVES

 

1.  The student completing this course will be able to demonstrate his/her knowledge in the criminal justice field through the submission and defense of research topic.

 

IV.         COURSE ARRANGEMENTS

 

The class will consist of consultation with the professor, preparation of a paper and submission and defense of the paper.

 

V.       CLASS REQUIREMENTS

 

Students are required to prepare a 15-20 page paper.  The student must be prepared to present and defend the paper.

           Academic honesty is non-negotiable.

Paper 100%                                                                                             

IX.       GRADING

A    90% - 100%

B    80% - 89%

C    70% - 79%

D    60% - 69%

F    Below 60%

 

Presentation thesis must be approved.
