Core Assessment (40% of course grade): Portfolio: collection of 4 assignments. Each assignment is completely or partially related to each of the core learning outcomes.

Each week you will have regular learning activities:
Readings – Textbook. It should be noted that the textbook is the main source for materials. All
the PowerPoints are designed to enhance, clarify the information in the textbook.
Lectures – Presentations and supplemental websites. The PowerPoints are an extremely helpful tool to help guide you through key information. Not viewing them is commonly an indication of a student not willing to actively engage in the course. Most of the PowerPoints also indicate what is being stressed for the week.
Discussions - Respond at least 6 times per week. A response is more than just one sentence. The first post must be completed by Wednesday, second by Thursday. Many of the discussions present questions that then lead the class to additional questions. Posting five comments in 5 minutes on Sunday night does not help your peers.
Quizzes - Complete the quizzes for weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. These are open book but you had better know the chapters well before taking the exam because 60 minutes goes by fast if you are still thumbing through your book trying to answer #3.
Final Exam - This is a proctored exam. IT IT NOT OPEN BOOK. The final chapter is stressed in the final but it is a comprehensive final covering all the cha[ters. Your proctor form must be completed by week 6. There test format will consist of different question styles they may or may not include: Multiple Choice, Matching, Short Answer, Sketch and Label, and Fill in the Blank. This is a proctored exam. You must start looking for a suitable proctor by week 2 and fill form out by week 6. Failure to take the final exam will result in an F.
PROCTORED FINAL EXAM
•You must follow the Park University procedures for obtaining an approved proctor. Please refer to the Help and Resources page to review the requirements for locating a proctor and the procedure for completing a Proctor Request Form.
•For proctored examinations, photo identification is required at the time of the test.
•A proctor request form will be made available to you during the first week of class so that you can send your requested proctor to your instructor for approval. It will be the responsibility of the student to arrange for a proctor, who is accepted and approved by the course instructor, by the 6th week of the term.
•Approval of proctors is at the discretion of the Online instructor.
•Failure to take a final proctored exam (or submit your final project for some online graduate courses) will result in an automatic "F" grade
This is a weekly requirement and determines your participation grade. You must post at least 6 times during each week. The first posting must be completed by Wednesday, the second by Thursday, and the final posting by Sunday. The posting should be related to the weekly topics and contain multiple sentences. Weekly discussions will be graded for content, relevance and timeliness.

There are two homework assignments that must be submitted through the dropbox.
There are weekly quizzes that are meant to be comprehension of the material that week, so think of them as a mini exam. These can only be taken once. Their format can consist of all the following: multiple choice, matching, fill in the blank, and short answer. They are open book, but I can not stress enough that studying for them would be a necessity.

A: 910 - 814 points 89.5% - 100%
B: 813 - 723 points 79.5% - 89.4%
C: 722 - 632 points 69.5% - 79.4%
D: 631 - 532 points 58.5% - 69.4%
F: 531 - 0 points 0% - 58.4%
Late Submission of Course Materials: Assignments will be accepted up to one week after their due date, but will be penalized 10% per day. Students may NOT make up quizzes or exams missed because of an unexcused absence.
Instructors are required to maintain attendance records and to report absences via the online attendance reporting system.
1. The instructor may excuse absences for valid reasons, but missed work must be made up within the semester/term of enrollment.
2. Work missed through unexcused absences must also be made up within the semester/term of enrollment, but unexcused absences may carry further penalties.
3. In the event of two consecutive weeks of unexcused absences in a semester/term of enrollment, the student will be administratively withdrawn, resulting in a grade of "WH".
4. A "Contract for Incomplete" will not be issued to a student who has unexcused or excessive absences recorded for a course.
5. Students receiving Military Tuition Assistance or Veterans Administration educational benefits must not exceed three unexcused absences in the semester/term of enrollment. Excessive absences will be reported to the appropriate agency and may result in a monetary penalty to the student.
6. Report of a "F" grade (attendance or academic) resulting from excessive absence for those students who are receiving financial assistance from agencies not mentioned in item 5 above will be reported to the appropriate agency.
NOTE: An attendance report of “P” (present) will be recorded for students who have logged in to the Online classroom at least once during each week of the term. Recording of attendance is not equivalent to participation. Participation grades will be assigned by each instructor according to the criteria in the Grading Policy section of the syllabus.
Classroom Rules of Conduct: You will be expected to conduct yourself in a respectful manner. Discussions will remain polite and disrespect will be kept out of discussions (no flame wars!).
