Educational Philosophy: The facilitator’s educational philosophy is one of interactive discussion based on lectures, readings, written instruments, examinations, and use of supplemental websites. Class discussions, led by the facilitator, will be based on exploration of ideas, rules of law and issues based on readings and research.
Learning Outcomes: Core Learning Outcomes
All Park University courses must include a core assessment that measures the course's Core Learning Outcomes. The purpose of this assessment is to determine if expectations have been met concerning mastery of learning outcomes across all instructional modalities.
For this course, the core assessment is a Comprehensive Final Examination to be administered in all sections of MG 260. This exam is worth at least 30 percent of the student's final grade and will test students' mastery of the Core Learning Outcomes (as listed on this syllabus) through definitions, essay, and/or multiple choice questions.
This core assessment is a CLOSED BOOK, CLOSED NOTES comprehensive examination that must be administered and proctored in the classroom and may not be given as a take-home examination. Students should not have access to the exam or its questions before it is administered. The duration of the exam can be no longer than two hours.
No computers, or materials other than a writing instrument and a calculator without text functions and communication may be used for the exam; this applies to all students, regardless of whether the exam is for on-line or face-to-face students. Completion of the exam is strictly individual; students may not work in groups to complete the exam.

Course Grading Scale
A = 90- 100% (or 900 points or higher)
B =80-89% (or 800to 899 points)
C = 70-79% (or 700 to 799 points)
D = 60-69% (or 600 to 699 points)
F = < 60% (599 or fewer points)
The course grade for students will be based on the overall average of homework and tests taken during the course in accordance with the weighting of the various requirements as stated in the syllabus.
All final exams in all School of Business courses will be comprehensive and will be closed book and closed notes. They will constitute 30% of the total course grade and will not be a take-home exam. They will be completed during the test week in the period designated by the registrar or by the Proctor in the case online courses. If calculators are allowed, they will not be multifunctional electronic devices that include features such as: phones, cameras, instant messaging, pagers, and so forth. Electronic Computers will not be allowed on final exams unless an exception is made by the Dean of the School of Business.
Assignments will not be accepted late without penalty. In the event of an extenuating circumstance (i.e., hospitalization, being put on quarters, TDY, deployment) notify me of the circumstance and an exception can be made. Without an extenuating circumstance, the assignment will have one grade letter deducted for each day late.
Paper: Because the paper is due toward the end of the term, every effort should be made to have the paper in on time. One day late will result in the 2 letter grade reduction.
Discussion and Case Studies: You must be in class or online during weeks 3, 5, and 7 to participate in discussion. You may submit a written case study by the class due date even if you are not in class.
Note: When an assignment is due at 12:00 CST; 12:01 is late. Extensions are available for very extenuating circumstances. (If you are hospitalized or are deploying and will not be near a computer for the entire week).
Classroom Rules of Conduct: Cell phones should be turned off or put on vibrate during class to diminish interruptions to the class. You may use them during breaks.

Plagiarism:Plagiarism involves the use of quotations without quotation marks, the use of quotations without indication of the source, the use of another's idea without acknowledging the source, the submission of a paper, laboratory report, project, or class assignment (any portion of such) prepared by another person, or incorrect paraphrasing. from Park University 2012-2013 Undergraduate Catalog Page 95Students are required to do their own work in this course. Students who plagiarize will receive a 0 on the assignment for a first offense and be reported to the Academic Director. Subsequent offenses may result in an F for the entire course.
Attendance Policy:Instructors are required to maintain attendance records and to report absences via the online attendance reporting system.

This is a blended class which means we will meet face to face for 5 class meeting times and online for 3 class times. The online classes will be weeks 3, 5, and 7. In the units on the left of the class page, I will have important notes listed under Lecture. There will be a Discussion Thread in which you will respond to ONE question listed. Pick a question not everyone else has chosen. You will also RESPOND to at least one other classmate's response.
